The MagicQ Linux Repository provides a way to install and update MagicQ onto a Debian based linux system using the inbuilt aptitude based install system.
First install the ChamSys public key into your apt settings.
Code: Alles auswählenwget http://repo.magicq.co.uk/magicq.co.uk.gpg -qO - | sudo apt-key add -
Then add the following line at the bottom of your /etc/apt/sources.list file:
Then update the package list in apt by running apt-get update. If all has worked okay, you should see at the end of the update output it downloads the packages list from the MagicQ repo.
Once apt has been updated, you can run apt-get install magicq to install MagicQ. Currently magicq is a virtual package which both magicq-stable and magicq-beta will provide.
On a new release of MagicQ, you will have to run apt-get update again to download the updated package list and version, and then apt-get install magicq to bring this new package in.
Running MagicQ
Since MagicQ uses the same folder to write showfiles in, you will currently need to be as root to be able to run in this directory. Open a terminal, and type "su", enter your root password, and then run /opt/magicq/runmagicq.sh
